Your One-Hour Work Week
Hi, it’s Mindy McHorse again. Today’s message is short and sweet.
We’ve been talking all week about launching your first e-book. Once you've done it once, it gets easier and easier. According to Bob Bly, you could earn as much as $200,000 in passive income after 24 months from publishing e-books.
But there’s one final thing you need to know about how to make a profit off e-books and keep earning for years to come.
It boils down to one, key thing: Consistency. Once you’ve done the upfront work, you need to devote roughly one hour a week to maintaining your earnings.
Here’s how it breaks down:
When you launch your e-book project, you need to pick your topic and write your e-book or e-books.
Then, you’ll set up your website and write sales copy. You also need to write persuasive copy that drives people to your site, whether it’s in the form of emails, online ads, social media posts, or blogs.
Part of the reason you drive people to your site is to get them to opt-in to your mailing list to receive more information about your e-books. As your mailing list grows, your number of potential buyers increases.
Over time, that number has to be maintained. So you need to continually publish copy that gets new names on your list. And you’ll want to update and add to the e-book content you offer for sale.
But you know what? It doesn’t take a lot of effort once you get the ball rolling. Like I mentioned before, it averages out to about an hour a week — and that number comes from Bob Bly, who’s been making a passive income off e-books for years.
Personally, I can’t wait to get started on my own e-book venture. Remember, mine is on the world of triathlons. Writing copy for paying clients is fabulous — and I plan to keep doing it. But if I can have a six-figure passive income rolling in on top of that? Wow. What a difference extra income could make in my life.
And in yours too. So, with that, I want to pass the ball to you. If you haven’t yet, spend some time thinking about the ideal e-book topic for you — and then go for it! Every success story I’ve ever read about a high-profit e-book starts with a writer who took a risk, did the writing, and put the e-book out there.
You can do this. Best of luck as you move forward in the world of e-books and passive income!

Hi, Mindy Just one question for now. What do you do about people who get your ebook and then aren't satisfied and want their money back? What do you do about the book?

Hi Anna, Bob Bly's advice is to always offer a guaranteed refund, 100% money back, good for up to a year (or however long you deem fit). They keep the content, so technically you lose a sale, but what happens is more people are willing to buy and trust you if you offer a guarantee, so in the long run you end up with better sales. :)
