American Writers & Artists Institute (AWAI) Terms and Conditions
At AWAI, our mission is simple:
To help people turn writing into real income … without needing a college degree, years of experience, or inside connections.
Through our training, programs, subscriptions, and resources, we teach the systems, frameworks, and strategies that help writers build valuable skills and create new opportunities.
To keep things clear and fair for everyone, these Terms and Conditions explain what happens when you purchase, access, or use AWAI’s website, products, programs, subscriptions, events, and services.
By purchasing, accessing, or using any AWAI offering, you agree to the terms below.
1. Training Program Refund and Credit Policy
When you enroll in an AWAI training, any applicable cancellation, refund, or satisfaction guarantee period will be clearly stated at the time of purchase.
Once that stated period has passed, purchases are nonrefundable unless otherwise required by law.
Where applicable, AWAI may provide a program credit when a refund is not available, which may be used toward an eligible future AWAI offer within 12 months of your cancellation date.
Program credits
- must be used within 12 months unless otherwise stated;
- are nontransferable;
- are not redeemable for cash; and
- may be applied only to eligible AWAI products, programs, or services.
Unused credits expire at the end of the applicable credit period.
2. Subscription Policies
Free or Trial Subscriptions
From time to time, AWAI may offer a free or paid trial subscription.
Unless you cancel before the end of the stated trial period, you will automatically be charged the continuation price shown at the time you signed up.
Ongoing / Continuity Subscriptions
Some AWAI subscriptions, memberships, and continuity programs renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled before renewal.
By signing up, you authorize AWAI to charge your payment method on a recurring basis unless and until you cancel.
Lifetime Subscriptions
When you purchase a lifetime subscription to one of our services, you are purchasing it for the life of the product (assuming any applicable maintenance fees are paid). We commit to fulfill that product for a minimum of three years. If the product closes before a minimum of three years’ time, we commit to fulfilling a similar service for the remainder of the applicable three-year period.
3. Payment
When you make a purchase, you authorize AWAI to charge the payment method you provide for the applicable fees, including any recurring charges you agreed to.
You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing information and to keep that information up to date.
If a payment is declined, reversed, or otherwise unsuccessful, AWAI may retry the charge and/or suspend access to the applicable product, subscription, or service until payment is successfully received.
4. Canceling Your Subscription
If you cancel your subscription, your cancellation will stop future renewals as well as your current access to your subscription features.
Except where required by law, AWAI does not provide prorated refunds or credits for partially used subscription periods.
To cancel a trial or subscription, contact us here or use any cancellation method provided in your account or purchase confirmation.
5. Important Note About Results
AWAI provides educational training, tools, strategies, and guidance intended to help individuals build writing, marketing, and business-development skills.
However, AWAI does not guarantee income, clients, jobs, business growth, publication, career advancement, or any specific financial or professional outcome from participating in any AWAI training, membership, event, or service.
Any student stories, testimonials, case studies, or examples we share are meant to inspire and illustrate what’s possible — not to promise or guarantee that you’ll achieve the same outcome.
Your results depend on many factors, including your background, experience, effort, implementation, consistency, market conditions, and individual circumstances.
6. Educational Purposes Only
Everything AWAI provides — including courses, trainings, templates, tools, downloads, events, and coaching — is intended for educational and informational purposes only.
Nothing provided by AWAI should be considered legal, tax, accounting, financial, employment, or other professional advice.
You are responsible for how you use the information and for seeking professional guidance where appropriate.
7. Your Responsibility
You understand that your progress and results depend on your own participation, effort, follow-through, and application of the training.
AWAI provides tools, guidance, and support — but you remain responsible for how you use them.
8. Your Account and Access
If you create an account or receive login access to an AWAI product, membership, or subscription, you are responsible for keeping your login information secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Unless otherwise stated, AWAI products and subscriptions are intended for individual use only.
That means you may not
- share your login credentials with others;
- give others access to paid materials;
- copy, repost, distribute, sell, or republish AWAI paid content; or
- misuse the website, programs, or services in any unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or disruptive way.
If these Terms are violated, AWAI may suspend or terminate access to the applicable account, product, or subscription.
9. AWAI Content and Intellectual Property
All AWAI materials — including course content, videos, lessons, downloads, templates, frameworks, worksheets, branding, graphics, text, audio, and related materials — are owned by AWAI or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
When you purchase or access AWAI materials, you are receiving a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use them for your own personal education and business development.
You may not reproduce, distribute, republish, sell, modify, share, sublicense, or otherwise use AWAI materials beyond that permitted use without prior written permission.
10. Events, Workshops, Coaching, and Program Changes
From time to time, AWAI may offer live events, workshops, webinars, coaching, or other scheduled experiences.
AWAI reserves the right to update or modify program content, schedules, instructors, guest speakers, bonuses, event formats, access terms, or delivery methods when necessary.
If a live event or scheduled experience needs to be changed, postponed, substituted, or discontinued, AWAI’s responsibility will be limited to the remedies, if any, stated at the time of purchase or otherwise required by law.
11. Website and Service Availability
We work hard to keep AWAI’s website, portals, subscriptions, and digital services running smoothly.
That said, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free access at all times, and we are not responsible for temporary outages, maintenance, technical issues, or third-party platform disruptions beyond our reasonable control.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AWAI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, or data arising out of or related to your use of AWAI’s website, products, programs, subscriptions, events, or services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AWAI’s total liability for any claim related to a specific product or service will not exceed the amount you paid for that specific product or service.
13. Privacy
Your use of AWAI’s website, products, and services may also be governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, and protected.
We encourage you to review that policy separately.
14. Changes to These Terms
AWAI may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
Any changes will become effective when posted unless otherwise stated. By continuing to use AWAI after changes are posted, you agree to the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Florida without regard to conflict of law principles.
